About this product
This rumen magnet is a caged magnet given by mouth to cows and buffaloes. It is also called a cow magnet. Cattle swallow nails, wire and other metal with their feed. The magnet settles in the reticulum, the part of the stomach next to the rumen, and holds iron and steel pieces there. This lowers the risk of metal piercing the stomach wall, a problem called hardware disease. A plastic cage surrounds the magnet. Each magnet measures 3.5 x 3.5 x 9 cm. A pack holds ten pieces. A vet or a trained handler gives the magnet with a bolus gun. The magnets suit dairy farms and vets. A bolus gun and a handheld metal detector are also in our range.
