This 250 W infrared bulb keeps chicks and piglets warm. It is also called a heat lamp or brooder bulb. The bulb is red, measures 14 x 12 x 12 cm and weighs 92 g. Hang it over the brooder or over the piglet corner. It warms one area, and the young animals move closer or farther away to find the heat they need. Chicks need extra heat in their first weeks. Newborn piglets need it while the sow stays in a cooler area. Raise or lower the bulb to change the heat. Use a holder rated for the bulb, and keep it clear of bedding and water. Bulbs need replacing when they fail, so farms reorder them. A 150 W bulb is also in our range.
