About this product

These castration rings are rubber and are for use with a castration bander. They are for castrating sheep and goats and for tail docking of lambs. Each pack holds 100 green rings and weighs 58 g. Place a ring on the prongs of the bander, stretch it open, slip it into place and release. The ring cuts off the blood supply, and the part below it dries and drops off in a few weeks. Use the rings on young animals under the guidance of a vet, with pain relief and tetanus cover as advised. Store spare packs in a cool, dark place, as heat and sunlight make rubber lose its stretch. A ring that has lost its stretch will not grip. The castration bander is also in our range, and its kit includes 100 rings.
